OWWW!!

Exercise painful! Tummy hurts. Arms hurt. Legs will probably hurt soon.

Wow. I'm out of shape. I can't believe 20 push-ups, 20 sit-ups, and 2:00 minutes of jumping jacks would do that to me. I know it will be a long process to be back to being fit. I worked really hard to become this flabby mess.

I'm not sure that there was ever a time when I could have done 20 push-ups without taking a break partway through! Well done sir!

Painful you say?

PAIN is WEAKNESS leaving the body! Keep it up buddy!

*Working out:
Push-ups:
After a set of push-ups, switch to sit-ups. After the sit-ups, switch back to push-ups again, but use a different hand position. Placing the hands closer together (or farther apart) will force you to use different muscles to push. The arms that were "tired" a minute ago have new life -- because you're using different muscles within those arms!
Sit-ups:
Crunches are much better you you do them properly. After the switch to a different arm/hand position for set two of your push-ups, switch to a different style of sit-up for set #2. Try to cross left (or right) for this set. Again, different muscles.
Next time:
Change the order that you do the sets. Even though you had more energy for the second set, by the time you get to the third you'll be spent (until you get fit). Try the third anyway, but if/when you can't finish it, start with that set next time so you're working all the muscles equally (if not at the same time).

Add in simple things:
Take the stairs instead of the elevator. I live on the eighth floor and still I continue to do this. It's how I keep my girlish figure after 31+ years.
;)

Simple things like that will make a TON of difference!

Good luck bro!
